I spent a good portion of my life as a smoker (28 years of smoking) and had given up on the idea that I would ever get in really good shape... So 5 years ago I was suprised when I joined the local fitness center and actually liked it. My goal was to try to replace smoking with something healthy. (that wouldn't get me in more trouble)
So... it worked. I quit smoking the first week and haven't looked back. It turns out that I had a few health issues that I wasn't aware of... so I was glad that I chose to join the Edward Hospital Fitness Center, since I was afraid that I might keel over at any time. A lot of Doctor's work out there in the morning...
One of the things that struck me was how many people looked kind of familiar. Actually, a lot of them looked like Realtors. You might know from my other post "Do I Know You?" that I wasn't completely sure who all of these familiar people were. Their pictures notwithstanding, being sweaty in shorts and t-shirts is not the look you're used too.
As it turns out, it is kind of a who's who of Naperville Real Estate at the gym... There had to be 20 of Naperville's top 50 agents that work out regularly there...and that's at just one of the gyms in town. Different levels of fitness... but in there moving and doing something to take care of themselves. I've really come to enjoy the comaraderie that comes with seeing these folks outside of the business (being a wee bit obsessive, I'm there most days) and getting to know them
So, for me... no little red sports car... although that may have been easier...
