The economy is a tough one. Everyone is having to learn to cut back in one way or the other. I think it is time we all begin thinking about how we are going to save a few bucks...I myself am going to start this week doing the grocery game. I have heard that this can save you half or more on your grocery shopping. So, there is a 4 week trial that is $1 and I am going to see if I can do it, and actually stick with it. The website for this program is www.thegrocerygame.com. I am really excited to begin this and I hope it works as well for me as it has others. Has anyone here tried it? Let me know how it worked for you. Also I would like to throw in a few tips on how to save money...
- Shop the clearance and sale racks. Do you have children that get invited to birthdays? I myself do and some of the birthdays where I don't really know the child, I don't want to spend alot of money. So I shope the clearance racks. I found after christmas toys that were marked down more than 75% off at Target and Wal-Mart. They are put away into a closet that I call my gift closet, and when a birthday comes up, I not only have spent less on a gift, I don't have to hussle around tyring to find a gift.
- Also the sale and clearance racks for yourself are a good idea, need some clothes? Shop the sale and clearance racks to find some great clothes. The retail sales were down this past year, so the stores are doing all they can to keep you buying, and to get things off their shelfs.
- Don't buy what you don't need. That is pretty simple...ask yourself, do I really NEED this, or do I just WANT this?
- Why do we need to take our children to the big amusement parks and attractions? Stay in and have family game night, or movie night. The kids enjoy any time they can spend with you, they don't care if its just staying in. Get back to the simple things in life.
- Quit eating out as much. If you are like me and have a family of 5, it is rather expensive to go out to eat with the whole family. We have enjoyed just staying in and cooking a meal for the entire family. Publix has some recipes that you can make for a family under $15. Check those out at www.publix.com, and start cooking again.
Those are just a few ways to save a few bucks. I will keep you all updated on how the grocery game goes for me. I am hoping to save lots of $$$$! Happy $aving to you all!
