Mike's 52 Weeks of Thanksgiving - Week 12- A Shower of Prayer

By
Real Estate Agent with Retired

This weeks reason to be thankful is very easy. I wrote a post last week asking for your thoughts and prayers for my daughter who was having surgery. There was a great response and outpouring of prayer and well wishes from many here.

It was a supposed to be an easy surgery, few complications, performed all the time with few complications. However, this one didn't work out that way. It kept getting delayed, for one reason or another. Then, when it was finally performed, the gall bladder as removed but a couple of stones were left inside, causing some pain and other problems. Seana had to wait through two more days of false starts, bad scheduling and, of course, a holiday weekend (wonder if that had anything to do with it). Finally, late on Monday, they were able to remove the left over stones. The positive response was virtually immediate.

When we talked, a few hours later, it was even evident over the phone that she was doing much better. And, she was able to go home on Tuesday, and even go out with her fiance for a short trip to pick up her prescription.

So, I am thankful to God for seeing her through and to all of you for your support during this time.

Thankfully, everything turned out alright.  That's tough surgery.  Both of my daughters have had it and we were all glad when it was over.

It is nice how quickly the pain goes away after the stones are removed.  I am glad she is feeling better.  I would bet she will be back to her regular activities in no time.

Good Mike, Glad to hear your daughter is feeling better.   I hear that it is a painful recovery....Like recovering from a C-Section, without the joy of the baby of course.   I have had two and they are very painful!

Mike...

I didn't want to say anything before the surgery, but when my wife's gallbladder was removed, it ruptured and she experienced the same complications you described. They said that this was rare so I didn't mention it before.

I am glad that she is doing well now, but sorry about all of the extra suffering. Tell your daughter we're all wishing her a speedy recovery.

Mike, having a child in any sort of danger or harms way is a feeling that most parents do not like. It is that feeling of helpless ness that make sit so much more palpable. Having the thoughts and prayers of friends always makes it easier to accept. I am glad she is doing much better.

Have a great day

Bo

Jane - this was laproscopy, not quite as invasive as C-section, Seana's mother had to have C-section for her and her brother.

Trey - prayer does seem to help healing

Richard - I will pass it on, thank you
