Old Littleton, Colorado - The Old Town Hall = Town Hall Arts Center
I recently was downtown in Old Littleton taking photos. I was meant to be there quickly, just taking some pictures to use for my real estate blog to describe this wonderful little downtown on Main Street. I walked over to the Old Town Hall building which is now the Town Hall Arts Center.

One thing that blogging about my community has really done is help notice the small stuff, really see Denver & the surrounding areas through a new set of eyes. I have walked past this building at least 100 times. I have attended performances here. I have eaten lunch across the street. My son even recently was here for a field trip to see the play Charlotte's Web. But until I really stopped to take a picture I have to admit I didn't truly appreciate it. I always saw it and enjoyed it, but I never took the time to look at the color of the glass in the lights and the skill it must have taken to design with so much detail.

After studying it for a while, I really saw the history of this building and the beautiful design that went into it. It was constructed around 1920 and photos that show some of the construction and more historical information can be found here. It was first designated as a historic landmark in 1973. Its really a rare masterpiece as so much of the front range is brand spanking new. I truly enjoyed being able to slow down and really see for the first time the intricate detail of the building. It is more than just hanging out and enjoying Old Littleton, its appreciating the past that shaped what Colorado still is today. This building has been restored and preserved and its just grand.

And by the way, the Town Hall Arts Center is a great place to see a performance if you ever have the chance. Its a small, cozy and intimate theatre that is very enjoyable.
