ABC's Good Morning America - "Sell Your Home with Virtual Video Tours"

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Theater of Homes

"Sell Your Home with Virtual Video Tours" was the title of ABC's Good Morning America news program.  A video and written report was released this morning on abcnews.go.com depicting video tours has the new "state of the art" technology for online home tour viewing leaving photo stitched 360 tours in the dust.  One statistic I found interesting and important if accurate was reported by Elisabeth Leamy who said "studies show visitors stay at websites that offer video 78 percent longer."  As we all know in the web community retaining visitors translates into conversions or in other words a new potential customer.

I honestly couldn't have written this report any better and if this sort of thing tickles your fancy as it does mine I invite you to watch the video report at:

Thanks,

Thanks for bringing this up Lisa and a very good point that I should have commented on in my original post.  Although Theater of Homes is a professional home video tour production company we do not discurage willing technology enthusiastic individuals from producing thier own video tours and posting them.  With a handful of very useful technics a broker can produce a polished video tour.  I believe the greatest detouring factor is time.  At Theater of Homes, we have our art and style down to a science and can usually turn around and upload a 3,000 SqFt home video tour same day.  However the everyday consumer not knowing the tools and technics can lose two or three days in the production process.  Depending on what tools you use the learning curve can be very steep.  I am not trying to bloat this number, I only share with you (the community) what has been shared with me.  More than once have I had a client try to do thier own work only to come to me for help after the fact.

This leads me to propose this question and welcome anyones responce (thoughts and feelings).  Is there interest for brokers to produce thier own video tours?

It certainly makes sence for an agent to hire a video production company to shoot a 2 million dollar home such as this one I just shot but, what about the smaller ranch style homes you find in the common neighborhood?  Is it still a good idea to have a video tour of that home on the internet?  Our basic video tour package is only $275 and that gets you a very beatiful video tour.  How valuable is ones time.  I suppose in a slow market one has more time.  Again, I am very interested in community comments on this matter.  Please post.

Thank you for posting Lisa.

Marty, I think video is going to be the virtual tour of the future. However, shooting video is a lot more difficult than pointing a camera and taking a photograph. Without proper shooting techniques and editing, it can look pretty amateurish. I think it should be left to the pros for good quality videos.

Video tours bring to life a listing and give viewer a chance to fall in love with the home -- but distorted, jerky or amateur ones are a real turn off!
