Haunted Los Gatos - A Favorite Spot to Hang Out

Last night I took an unofficial Ghost Tour of San Jose with a friend of mine who donates her tours of Haunted San Jose for charity. We went along for a practice run and it was loads of fun. The van was packed with her neighbors and friends, one of whom likes staying at haunted hotels.

Not me. That's where I draw the line. I really, really don't want to sleep in a haunted place. Too much loss of control. I don't like surprises when I'm asleep.

But I do like visiting haunted spots - when I'm awake.

Los Gatos, being a place with an interesting history, seems to have no shortage of haunted places. One of them is a spot my family and I visit about once a week, and it constitutes a "great place to hang out". To read more, please visit Live in Los Gatos now!

Debi - nope, not last night! I did get "that creepy feeling" a couple of times (and I'm usually right about that) but did not see, hear, smell anything on last night's tour.

Ghost tours (you can find some by Googling or visiting my page, www.HauntedRealEstate.com) often weave history into them. Last night was no exception. My friend, Deb, brought us to an original adobe house from 1839 (I thought only one was still standing in San Jose, a different one). And she brought us to a bar in downtown San Jose which was adjacent to where "justice" was served - hangings, that is. The bar was located near the jail and apparently when there were too many folks in the official pokey, the overrun crowd got put into cells beneath the restaurant/bar. And the cells are still there!! (We could not see them. Apparently the insurance company doesn't trust the stairs or something.) Over the bar there are apartments and supposedly lots and lots of "activity" happens there.

So it was an interesting tour, even if I didn't get a glimpse of a spirit!

Sounds like it was a great tour. I agree too. If you felt it, there was probably "someone" there.

It is unlikely that I will be in SF. I have an International Conference to attend in June and I am just getting back to some form of "normal" after 3 weeks in Europe for my CIPS Class.

I am going to the NAR convention in Las Vegas in November, though.
