Home is where the hearth is.

Fred, that would make me the Governor of Illinois (you know... the replacement for Governor Blagojevich... also known as Governor F-word)... do you think there's any question that a Governor of Illinois would take accept money.. in an way, shape or form?

I thought not.

Thank you, thank you for your support.

Fred, in this scenario, I don't believe the Govenor of any state will refuse - if they do, this simply means the money will go to another state.

The issue is that the plan (as with the previous two) was poorly planned and full of pet projects.  Much of the money is given to states to be used in particular areas which does not give the latitude that you would hope to have.

I get as much as I could.  I'd fix roads.  I'd fix bridges. I'd offset some tax breaks for companies that would move here and employ people with the rest.

Wow I have been wait for this and it is almost a sign that you wrote this.

Here it is, if a Governor wants to lead (at the least) or be a potential President one day here is how. Send the money back and make big public announcement about all the PORK and name names. The rethink your state (like Texas) slash state spending and all the PORK in your state. Increase or move the money to service the elderly, get the insurance companies to compete for providing health care and the winner every year gets the state employees insurance and support more education. Get all the illegals out of your state by whatever means necessary including but not limited to making California looking really good about now. Work with the banks in getting the foreclosures off their books by selling them quickly and if they can't sell them, force them to. The quicker the state get them off the books the sooner other homes will start selling not by moratoriums and bailouts. Get people off the welfare lines by either dropping minimum wages so companies can hire more people or create jobs by offering incentives to companies for creating jobs. Then get rid of the cost of prisons, housing prisoner and people employed by prisons by send every prisoner to the war fronts with no way to come back, let terrorist meet real terrorist. I could go on and on but this is enough for now.

Tim and Pam -

Thanks for participating and chiming in.

The issue is not whether the plan was good/bad or indifferent...........BUT, now that the plan has been approved - you have 2 options.....

1.  Take the money and get to work........

2.  Refuse the money - if so, WHY??? and how do you explain to your constituents your decision????

Cheers
