Philadelphia Active Rain Gathering

Thanks to Jeff Belonger, a great Active Rain gathering was held in Philadelphia this past week at Cavanaugh's in Rittenhouse Square .

It is always a great opportunity to meet and network with fellow colleagues and even better to meet fellow Active Rainers and bloggers !  I was suffering with an extremely painful migraine that night (probably due to the "stimulus package" effects, similar to the stock market), but I still convinced my wife Stephanie to go without me.  She brought Elaine Kasavage from The Somers Team, a future Rainer for sure !

They had the wonderful time to meet and network with Jeff Belonger, Jason Sardi, Fran "The Title Man" and Beth Forbes.   I look foward to the next gathering !  I will be there, with or without a migraine (with or without a bailout) !  Below are some photos of the gathering:

Let us all local Rainers work together for a larger Active Rain Gathering next time !  Stephanie is thinking for the next one to combine a show or an event such as an exhibit at the Art Museum.  That way more folks may combine the gathering with an event at the same time to have a larger turn out.

It never fails.  Every freaking picture of me looks as if I have the same contact lenses as Satan himself.

I did miss seeing/meeting you formally, Chris.  Hope you are feeling better.  I will see you the next go around.

Nice to see everyone having a great time.  Isn't AR the best place to make new friends and send referrals to?

Jason - LOL, it is all good !  I had to take Friday off from work as well but am feeling much better today, thank goodness.  Had a lot of catching up to do.  I really missed being there but am so glad Stephanie went and had Elaine as an escort : )

I definitely look foward to the next go around !

Kay - It is very cool indeed.  It is always great to put a voice and a presence behind the blogger !  And I have noticed that AR folks are so very friendly and genuine as well.

I recognize that place. I lived in Philly for almost 9 years when I was in college and my first sales job. I worked for a publisher that sold to Catholic schools and it felt like I spoke with every nun in that diocese at one point. You know that way your head cranes when you see a FSBO sign? I used to do that when I saw a bingo sign. I still have dear friends in East Falls.

If you guys are in 19123 there are 2 schools I remember not too far from you-St Josephat's was a Ukrainian Catholic school with a very sweet principal, and St Peter's, if I recall correctly had a nun running the place who was actually extremely attractive (what a waste, I remember thinking) but had a bitter streak. I could be wrong about St Peter's but St Josephat's I'll never forget.

Such useless connections. Who brokers convents?

J Phillip - You should come back to visit sometime ! 19123 "Northern Liberties" has changed sooo much.  There are some great restaurants and boutique stores and some superb new construction.  We live right in the middle of it and love the area !

Congrats on your conversion to now selling real estate.  Back then you were just waiting for your true calling !!

What a great way to connect with other Active Rain members.  There's no denying from those photos what a great time you all had.

On a side note - if Active Rain could do the "faceBook thingy" where you can put a box around the person and link it to their profile, that would be REAL sweet. :)

Donna - Yes, face-to-face meetings are the best way to connect and communicate.  Is a nice break to get away from being behind the computer too much : )

Steve - LOL, will keep you in the loop next time.  Was not too big of a party to crash !  Will look foward to meeting you in the future.  I agree with the Facebook idea... that would be pretty cool.  I did see that we connected on Linkedin today... I had not been there in a week or so.  ~  Chris

Chris.... wish you could have come.  Stephanie, thanks for coming, it was finally nice to meet you. Just to bad that I didn't get the chance to talk to you much. By that time, I was tired talking.... lol  I had been there with Fran and his son-in-law for an hour before you and Elaine came.

@ Steve.... it's impossible to e-mail every single person. I blogged about this like 3 times on my own blog. I also placed it in like 8 different groups and it was featured in one of them.
