Hey George~ I Found the Weapons Of Mass Destruction!

By
Real Estate Agent with Cherimie Crane & Associates

Don't worry Mr. Former President sir, I found them. Yep. Little ol me. Realtor from Beaufort, South Carolina wakes up to find WMD's.

***warning, may completely tick you off, offend you, or make you feel the need to curse***

I identified them and their wake of destruction. Forgive me for not stumbling upon them sooner.

1. CNN- This weapon can be found on TV and or www.cnn.com. It can be a bit deceiving at first even slightly informative. The blanket statements, broad statistics, endless pictures of boarded up homes and the teary-eyed innocent has caused massive destruction.

2. Foreclose, because you can, don't worry the government will save you. During my career as a teacher, at times, I worked up to THREE jobs at once. Now, with headlines, pundits, and the all knowing neighbor telling everyone that foreclosure is just so darn common, it isn't a big deal.

WHAT?!?! Not a big deal!?!?

I understand some instances are unavoidable, I get it. What I DON'T GET, is the couple who chooses, to walk away from a commitment rather than give up a shopping spree lifestyle!

Didn't their parents teach them to work! I know people with three jobs, is it too much to ask for some people to consider having two?

People please. Get out there, do what you have to do. Times are difficult, we are stronger than this.

3. EXCUSES!   Beware. This particular weapon is EVERYWHERE. Well camouflaged in good intentions, self-pity, and complete denial.

It is found in newspapers, the coffee shop, the radio, just about everywhere you turn there is an excuse dressed as a good reason to accept current circumstance.

I am working harder than ever. I have bills and expenses just like everyone else. I am fed up with the outpouring of pity and "who is gonna save us" attitude.

While these people wait in line for answers, money, and kleenex, I will be working.

Seriously. The weapons of mass destruction are made in the USA!

Cherimie, I LOVE YOU!  I could not have said it better myself.  The same people that are being foreclosed on are often out to dinner a few times a week, and probably have never clipped a coupon! I am not sure how my parents taught me the value of a buck, or a work ethic... But THANKS MOM AND DAD!

This is pretty interesting, Cherimie.  What are the odds that we declare war on CNN?

I agree. To many people are walking away from their homes because it is not worth more than the mortgage, these people should be on a list of "Never should be allowed to own a home ever again" Just because it is not worth what the mortgage is today, 5 years from now when the market recovers it will be. So hang in there and find away to pay your mortgage.

I love you!  Great post!  About a year ago I when things got tough, I took a second job.  I was hanging out with a friend of mine that has THREE jobs when we saw a news report about rising unemployment.  With five jobs between the two of us...we weren't moved!  Great post, great attitude!  Keep it up!

Now I understand why people can't find jobs; too many people have more than one and won't share. That's unfair : )

Cherimie... you get more "I love you's" from your rant than most women get on Match.com!  LOL

Well, I love you too!  The way you put this is so spot on.  In fact, I've had this very same conversation 2 separate times today!  Both instances were dialogues with responsible, debt paying, hard working people who are fed up with all the "bail out BS" (their words!).

What kind of message are we sending?

Cherimie, I couldn't agree more. I can't even start!  Thanks for this post. Especially the bit about EXCUSES!!!!   I hate them. Just do what you say you will....like pay back your loan or whatever else you committed to!

With that said, there are many people that are in dire straights and we know that this is not directed at them!

Like you, I've worked hard all my life since age 13 with no time off for good behavior.  I cringe with improper use of our tax funds to assist those because they just plain find it more rewarding to take assistance than work.  I think many of us that have this same ethic are just shaking our heads at this mess.
