Michael - those folks in the areas you serve are lucky to have your services ! Great post ! ALL propertes should be inspected, especially new construction : )
...amazing... I bet this kind of "oopsie" is more common than we may think ...
... and on New Construction ???? wow ...
Good reading. I'm a fan of new construction inspections and I agree they can have more issues.
Barbara - You are so wise to require this for your clients...
Christopher & Stephanie - Thanks for the compliments...
Sheldon - You are right about the "oopsies" happening more than we realize...
Mark - Thanks. "Codes" officials do not and cannot catch everything...
Michael - Good catch. I'm sure that 99 percent of the inspectors we know wuld miss this. I'll see you on Thursday.
That is a little scary. you certainly have to have eyes wide open as a home inspector!
your friend in Charlottesville Virginia!
Bond, Michael Bond. we're convinced :) Great article Michael and homeowners will appreciate you taking the time to look out for their best interests.
Excellent point! I always recommend getting an inspection on new and pre-owned.
Larry - Thanks! I know that the builder was not too happy...
Charles - After awhile, you get a "knack" as what to look for...
Everand - Thanks for stopping by and commenting...
David - Cool! A must - Always...
I like to recommend outside inspectors for new construction for this very reason!
Michael, You mean that just touching is not good enough, thang it. LOL Good eye.

Great way of making a point! One can never be too careful! I agree with Lenn that most county inspectors are in and out too fast to do a very thorough inspection.
Mr Michael,
This might be a feature post, but my lawyers will be contacting you. It seems that you have hijacked my name.
Nutsy at the company keyboard
Michael: Great piece and excellent point made. That is why it is so important to always go with a good builder and not someone who cuts corners. Now more than ever, the builder of choice will be so important.
Well written!!
Well Michael, you once again proved your worth as a home inspector - Your industry has saved countless homeowners from nightmare houses.
Best, Dan
