The Best Closing Gift Ever ~ A Personal Chef

By
Real Estate Agent with Brand Name Real Estate

I have to say that I think I stumbled across the best closing gift out there, a Personal Chef. Some great friends of mine, Enan and Jenn, are Personal Chefs and they run a web based service that allows anyone the ability to afford a personal chef.  click her to check out their menu

Imagine your clients moving into their new home and finding the refrigerator filled with gourmet meals. They don't have to stress out about where they packed their pots and pans or should they order pizza. They simply pick which wonderful meal they want and enjoy. I can't think of a better gift to give your clients at closing and I am sure that they will never forget what a great agent they have.

Jim and Maria, one question that I have is this, does your State not regulate how much you can spend on a Client when it comes to a gift? I am licensed in Two States (MA and NH), Mass law says you cannot give any monetary gift period, its viewed as a kick back. So at closing your just suppose to shake hands etc.. and wish the new home owners well. In NH the law says that you can give a nominal gift and that it should not exceed $100.00.

What does South Carolina say? I think the idea is great but is it legal?

That's a great idea!

Jim and Maria give a hearty and a healthy meal as a closing gift.

Craig gives a hearty and a healthy handshake as a closing gift!

Hmmmmmm........Maybe I had better rethink this a bit!!!

Wow, Jim, what a great idea!  To respond to Christopher Bonta's predicament (not allowed to give closing gifts over $100), I suggest making a donation to a charity in honor of your clients, and make sure they get recognized for it!

What a great idea! Another good one I've heard of is to buy all the staples for ones pantry (for young first time buyers who don't have those type of things yet) so they can start in their new home AND kitchen on the right foot.

That chef idea is killer, though. Take the burden/worry of the new homeowners and have some gourmet meals ready for them. Do you think that type of thing might be available in Seattle?

Thanks for sharing, Nicole Weidauer

Nicole: I would almost guarantee that you could easily find someone to do just the thing. Heck, you could most likely do some sort of registering, so you won't have to cook when you get home from your honeymoon. Take care, Jim

That's got to be the most unique uniquest closing gift ever. As someone I know often says:

  1. Jim and Maria rock!
  2. Jim and Maria roll!
  3. Jim and Maria rule!
