Pat, Were there pigeons in 1930? I wasn't born yet.

The photo is of brownstone townhouses on West 75th Street. The twin towers are The San Remo Apartments on Central Park West.

The San Remo is a masterpiece from architect Emory Roth. Built in 1930. Converted to co-operative in 1972.

An ad for The San Remo in the New York Times in 1930 called it:

As modern as a flying boat, as luxurious as the Ile de France and designed for people who are at home on both. Birds in the sky are your only neighbors.
