Marlene... it just looks so peaceful and pleasant. I love my winters, but I also love the summer and the spring & fall when around lakes and such. Great picture.. I am sleepy now.

Hi Jeff - Glad you like the old photo.  It was taken in 1978 just after my husband and I bought our dream---a fishing resort in Washington State.  A simpler time in many ways...with double digit interest rates.

Hi Marlene,

Like Jeff, I'm freezing my fanny off here in Jersey and really appreciate this photo. But I wanted to tell you that I came to your blog tonight through the link on your Twitter post. And I guess we're taking the same domus training class which is how I'm following your tweets.

Maybe all of this interconnected stuff has some merit. Best wishes!!

Hi Jeff - Great to hear the tweets are working.  I figured out how to connect my Active Rain blog to Twitter.  Pretty cool.  Nice to make a new friend!

Hi Sally - Yup, that was a simpler time.  My hair had never seen dye and there wasn't any gray in it yet!  Now the grayer I get, the blonder I get:)

Hi Lynda - Thanks!  That was taken with my old 35mm Olympus.  The phot is beginning to fade.  Good to get things like this scanned so what's left of the color is preserved.

Have a great night!

Marlene, what a beautiful setting.  And the doggies playing and behaving just add to the appeal.  I have two and one would be making me chase her down for sure.  She's such a bad girl.  Did you and Lynda know each other back then or did you meet later?

Marlene,

Another cool thing to do is link your AR blog into your Facebook notes page. You'd be surprised the discussion that these posts have generated inside my SOI!

Hi Maggie - Thanks for stopping in to comment.  My husband was wonderful with dogs.  He had them well trained.  hey were a couple of dog pound puppies and full of life.  So glad we rescued them.  Lynda and I became friends much later, only about ten years now.  She is one of the great blessings in my life.  I'm so lucky to have her as a friend and to have been adopted by her family.

Hi Hal - Great idea.  I'm gonna work on that one, too!

I remember going fishing out with the dogs on the dock when I was a kid, I really do miss that.

Hi Todd - That was a wonderful time, I'm glad the photo evoked a fond memory for you.  Fishing docks like this one are something that must be a Pacific Northwest thing.  This dock was 250 feet lang and had lots of big old redwood chairs on it.  People paid us to fish off of it for trout, bass, crappie and catfish.  It was a very happy time during the fall when the dogs could run free.
