Playing Cat and Mouse

How frustrating is it when you are trying to help someone reach their dream of owning a home and you are playing cat and mouse with them over filling out a simple application.  Email seems to be the way of communicating these days, and I dont have any problem with that, on the contrary I am huge email advocate.  But, sometimes we need to revert back to basics, and actually pick up a phone and speak to a human being on the other end, especially when you want things done, instead of complaining why is the process taking so long!  Taking the time to send several emails is a lot longer than a quick fifteen to twenty minute conversation. But in the end, you have to do what is necessary to get the job done. Email is a great tool, just like texting, but what is happening to our society when we prefer to avoid interaction, just because its not convenient, and takes to long to dial.  Go figure!

I think many people are afraid of rejection on the phone and ok if it's through email. Most of my communication is by email these's just automatic since I can even check it on my cell phone. But sometimes I have to remind myself that I have the client's phone number too.

I thought I left my comment and also flagged because I thought this would be a good feature, but, my comment is not here, so I will start again.  I agree with you Lilah that email is a great tool and is much more convenient at times, however, we sometimes need that face to face or voice to voice to keep on top of all the details and it helps to listen to their tone and know how they are feeling through the process.  Thanks for sharing.

Go figure indeed. I couldn't agree with you more, Lilah!

I love e-mailing because it's easier to edit what you say and you can email in the middle of the night in your pj's if you want; however, it's coming to a point where you can develope a relationship with someone, personal and/or professional and never even see their face. It can be kind of creepy.

You're doing everything right. Everyone hates traying to contact a broker or realtor, or anyone for that matter, and never getting a response. It sound like you are definitely the type of person that follows through!

Keep up the good work and so many people will be calling, you won't be able to keep up with them!

P.S. Great Post!
