Would you sit and eat at this restaurant?! I wouldn't be brave enough!

National Art Center Tokyo, Cafe SeatingAs a designer of corporate interiors I browse through many corporate furniture websites. I found this 'picture of the month' of the National Art Center in Japan on the Fritz Hansen Website. It's one of my new favorites!

Would you sit on these Fritz Hansen chairs and eat at this restaurant? I don't think I could get passed my fear of heights for this one, no matter how good the food was!

What an interesting architectural space though! Japanese architecture is so amazingly beautiful and really pushes the envelope for new and exciting design ideas!

I would ask to sit at the bar. At least I could have a drink and not think about how high up I was. The "view" would be a little scary. Hmmm, but I like roller coasters?

    WOW Shannon...

I would try to eat but with all the symmetry, I think I would be taking pictures rather than eating  :)    This is really neat...

Sorry, I'm not seeing the problem with eating there.  Nothing different than eating at a rooftop restaurant...now if it was suspended without the structure below it then I'd be excited!

I love what that looks like and only can imagine the food tastes better with the senses so challenged with everything happening. One of my favorite places to dine was Windows on the World" the restaurant at the North Tower of the World Trade Center. I used to like the movement of the building (and yes it moved). I miss that place.

This is cool.  This reminds me of a futuristic settng in some settlement on Mars which the Japanese are very passionate about.

Hi Shannon,  What a cool picture!  I think I could handle eating there, but I wouldn't want to be a waitress there.  It made me think of the helicopter pad converted into a tennis court for Agassi and Federer suspended high atop that ship-shaped hotel in Dubai.  Cheers, Harley

    Shannon,

Wow!  This would not be my idea of a restful, comfortable environment for dining.  It's spectacular, though, isn't it?

I certainly would, it looks like it would be fun, but I'm not sure they would allow me to bring a camera to show the view to friends. (Doesn't look like that kind of place)
