The MIDAS Touch Never Stays Glued To Your Fingertips

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Homes By Cross, Inc.

You know the old tale...The Midas Touch..."everything turns to gold upon his touch'.

There was a time in our business when Unicorns were still possible.

When the purpose of clients was to be closed.

When problem clients, hollowed out and troubled with FICO scores,  were puffed by mortgage brokers in green lizard silence, while straddling thick banking branches far above and away from the softening effects of civilization.

And it was during that summer, which may have never been at all, but which has become more real than the one that was, the midas touch ruled.

Sales, deals, and impetulant clients. leaving the best part , the dual agency deals, to be spit out in rapid fire, against the wall, against wind, against each other. And when the ammunition was spent, there was always another deal.  It was a summer of limitless deals, of hungers quickly felt and quickly closed with the next eager buyer.

The bites are fewer now, Each one savored lingeringly, and funded somewhat reluctantly.

But in a jar, like perfect pickeled memories, the summer which may have never been at all, has been captured and preserved.

And when we unscrew the lid, and slice off a piece, and let it linger on our memory...

Unicorns become possible again.

The Midas touch departed Charlotte NC with Wachovia. It  never stays glued to your fingertips.

Claude, I have been hearring good news here every day. My co-worker informed me that his home in Newport News, VA sold after 20 days. Better news is it was $550,000.00. Things are looking up.

This was meant as ode to the good times not a lament of present problems.  There is sunshine ,it's just partly cloudy.
