Okay, I'm reading the latest Realtor magazine and skip to the article advertised on the front cover, Ratings Matter, page 22. It's all about the social media scene and how to be politically correct and protect your reputation; very good advice as I suspect some may become so comfortable with blogging that they may forget just how many people are reading their words. Anyway, that's not my point. I am reading this article, flip the page to see how long it is, (Geez! am I up for this?) It's pretty lengthy but I am going to finish it because it's about this social media thing that I just became part of and I need to know what the NAR thinks of it.
I am reading ( page 24) sorta speed reading, wait a minute, Why does that person feel so familiar?. I go back and read the paragraph again that quotes Jim Crawford. "Jim Crawford, I know him don't I?" I question myself to the thought of knowing him. Then it hits me........"ActiveRain! I know him from ActiveRain! I subscribe to his blog!" I just sit there for a minute wondering how I can feel so connected to Jim Crawford as I have only commented on a couple of his blogs and he has returned the favor. Those ActiveRain members who have astronomical scores are probably laughing at me because they have known him for some time. Hey! I am a Newbie!
Eureka! This is why I sit at my computer for many hours some days. I probably would have never met Jim (through the Rain) or even known his name if it were not for this place right here.
Thank you Jim, I love your Blog posts. You give me inspiration and selflessly share your real estate knowledge with me and all the other Rainmakers. I am honored to be associated with such amazing people.
I see the light through the RAIN :)
Terri
