Change???

Let’s talk about a real “Change”. I don’t care who you elect, one person can only do so much. It is the mindset and the actions of the people in this country that can affect real “Change”. As long as we have people who sit around and expect to receive something for nothing and those who reward that behavior, we’re going to have problems. Why should those who have worked, sacrificed and saved to get what they have turn around and give it away to someone who doesn’t deserve it? From a rational person’s point of view there’s definitely something wrong with that picture. Yet, over half the people in this country voted for just that. Not that I’m saying people shouldn’t get a little helping hand when they are down but keep things in perspective. But what incentive does this provide for one to excel in life, build a dream, if it is only going to be taken away from them and given to someone who has put forth no effort for themselves? (Reference the coming tax increase a certain group of Americans are about to undergo as result of this massive deficit created for this so called Stimulus Package.) Is this what America is all about today? 

And what’s more, keeping your head stuck in the “sky is falling” circle jerk that’s going on in the media right now is creating worse woes. There are opportunities in bad times and good times but when the overall mindset of the country is in the dumps, they won’t think about what possible alternatives there may be. They’re too busy sitting in front of the TV listening to some news person tell them they’re going to lose their job, house and retirement to consider a new career in a recession proof industry or developing a small side business as back up income to create reserves in case the worse should actually happen.   And OK, so we’re in a recession. The economy sucks. This is going to go on forever, right? Well I it never has before. People also have a tendency to not be able to see beyond today. What’s happening right now is indefinite.

The wisest words ever spoken were, "This too shall  pass."

Keep your eyes on tomorrow.  You will live through today - and - tomorrow will be what you make it; not what it is today.
