Just Be Yourself, Who Knows, You Might Like It

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker 69190

I see far too many people in this world that make the mistake of attempting to be what they feel others will like. They step outside themselves in an effort to "fit in" and don't convey their true personality. To me this is a recipe for disaster, as you can not really act forever. This comes off as forced behavior and people will see through it.

Your best bet in this life is to just be who you are. No, not everyone will accept you and some times you will even run into to people they may not actually like you. But in all honesty, you may not like them either so what's the difference. Is it really that important to be a part of the crowd? Chameleons have an uncanny knack for blending into their surroundings. I on the other hand want to do no such thing.

I would rather be myself and stick out in the crowd. Just because everyone is not exactly like you doesn't mean that you are less than. If anything it's better to be different because most people really get tired of the same old thing. Besides you might be surprised by the number of people who truly will accept you for who you are. And it's always easier to left the burden of putting on a show.

Being true to ones self has become something of a lost art in this world. We live in a society where what is "normal" is dictated to it's inhabitants on a regular basis and quite frankly there isn't a soul alive today that truly fits the definition of normal. It's not worth the time nor the effort for anyone to attempt to embrace the delicate boundaries of normalcy. Go ahead and be a freak of nature, you'll be happier than you would be with the constant act.

Living in the state where phony was created I couldn't agree with you any more than I do and that's 100%.

JL, I had this exact discussion even in the blogging area with another Rainer months ago about blogging style and content. The conclusion unanimously all around: be yourself. It is the old "who else are you gonna be??"

I find it easier being myself.  I have a short term memory and can't remember who I played last so I just stay in character.  ME......

JL, you make a good point, I'm who I am, whether you like it or not. I'm pretty easy going and as most can see I do not hold back on much and I'm not here to impress nobody either. I joke around a lot and try to keep my posts simple and to the point while having fun. LOL

This the mask I wear when I'm on A/R, Beautiful.
