Hernando County prides itself to be located on Florida's Nature Coast.
Here, on the West Coast of Florida you will find many opportunities to access the waters either of a crystal clear river like the Weeki Wachee River, some of the many saltwater creeks, or the Gulf of Mexico.
Jenkins Creek is located on Shoal Line Boulevard between Weeki Wachee and Hernando Beach.
It's a popular place especially on weekends. There is plenty of parking, bathroom facilities are on site.
Boaters have the opportunity to use one of the smaller public boat ramps in the County to launch boats free of charge, and the boardwalk always attracts the fishing and crabbing crowd!
A wooden bridge crosses the creek to a nature preserve area, another great place to fish from the banks or to watch the birds or other wildlife.
Walk across the street and climb the observation tower to catch some great views across the grasslands towards the Gulf of Mexico, a special treat especially during sunset!
Enjoy!
