This is good to know.  I am about to be an auntie to a girl who is going to be born in March.  Although, her mother wanted her to be born in April so that her birthstone would be diamonds.  I told her that a girl doesn't have to be born in April to have diamonds.  That's just my opinion.

Wow, I didn't know most of that!  My hubby's birthstone is aquamarine and I keep thinking of it as a really pale blue stone. I didn't realize that it comes in a few different colors. I'll keep that in mind for my family ring!

I was born in March and I have never liked the birthstone.  I've never owned anything with it.

Am I a traitor to my month?

Lara, great post! I love the color of Aquamarine, not quite blue and not quite green.  It is a beautiful stone. My mom was born in March.

Lara, aquamarines are beautiful. I wasn't born in March, but I wouldn't mind getting an aquamarine ring as a present! ;-)

Heather, I agree ... diamonds are a girls best friend! But you can throw in an assortment of gems and we'll be happy.

Libby, I've seen some really deep blue ones that are gorgeous, but most look very pale.

Raine, that is a funny coincidence! Did her name come from the Dr Zhivago movie like mine?

Jane, I have one too. I love gems in every color and type. I don't discriminate.

Sharon, no it's just not your taste. Diamonds are a good surrogate :-)

Sandy, it is a gorgeous stone. It reminds me of the ocean.

Tanya, you should get your mom a nice one for her birthday :-)

Griselda, you should email a picture of what you would like to your loved ones. I did that and my husband sent me a picture of a Ferrarri back. He thinks he's so funny!
