Running Out of Places to Store Papers, Toys, Games, Season Clothing and all else that seems to multiply? Here are 5 Tips to help clear the clutter.
- Choose a starting room. Move all clutter into another area and sort into 3 piles. Items that you use everyday in one pile. Items you can store in another pile and items you can donate or throw away in another pile. (Items you haven't used for months need to go.)
- Items to store can be kept in clear plastic boxes in the attic, basement, under the stairs, garage, an outside shed. (If you install shelving - you will gain extra storage space.)
- Organize the storage boxes neathly. Label the boxes so you can find what you're looking for.
- Items for daily use can be placed in decorative boxes that you arrange beneath tables, beside furniture, etc. Kids toys work well in bright stackable bins.
- Store books, photos, paperwork and momentos on shelves throughout the house. You can group by color and size to give an attractive appearance. And leave some space between groupings - this will make the shelves look less cramped.
