Take Time to Eat the Snow!!!

I know what you're thinking, "but we SHOULD be smelling the hyacinths"! Spring is on its way, but why not take time to enjoy what we hope will be our last snow storm of the season. It's a snow day...enjoy!

It’s a perfect day to catch up on emails, start your spring cleaning, laze about with a good book in front of the fire. How about not doing anything! We rarely give ourselves permission to do absolutely nothing…why not try it today?

If you have kids in the house or a pooch, chances are you’ll be out and about. Try going to Penfield or Jennings beach for a walk with your four legged bud. It’s quite beautiful and you’re sure to run into other dedicated dog owners. You can also head towards Lake Mohegan for a romp with rover.

Celloinfairfield2Want to go for a sled ride? Try Winslow Park in Westport. You can find tons of kids and adults alike cavorting in the snow and down the hills. I’ve also seen people sledding across the street from Pompanoussac in Westport and at Fairfield University.

If you’re thinking of a cross country trek with your skis or snowshoes, you might want to head up towards Trout Brook in Weston. There are several great trails from beginner to advanced to choose from.

Enjoy the day, smile and don’t forget to eat the snow!

Love the dog! Hate winter! I figure I've got one more big snow fall to go in March. Never fails. I used to have a Golden who walked rain or shine. I would freeze while she came home panting and go find a snow bank in the back yard. LOL

Too cute!  When I lived up north my 5 dogs would come inside covered in snowballs hanging off their fur.  Oh my what a mess, but they sure had fun!

Thanks everyone! He is a riot and loves eating and rolling in the snow. I love watching him have such a good time so the clean up is worth it...well, maybe!

The weather here is turning for the better, so hopefully it will be the last of the snow for the season.

We should learn from them: finding fun in the most basic things, either smelling the flower, or eating a nice chocolate once in a while, or enjoying a nice calming walk with your dog.

Beautiful pictures!!!

Thank you Doris. I am sorry I did not see your comment earlier.

She is my personal trainer and she loves to explore during the day and guard the house at night.

Now re-reading my posting I realized it was a bit confusing.... I meant that we humans could stop and enjoy a nice chocolate... DOGS CAN'T EAT CHOCOLATE!!!

She is 18 months old now and continues to amaze me how smart and caring this loving creatures are.
