Question: I would like to do some improvements to my house to make it more appealing to buyers. I don't know what are the best fixes/updates that will bring the highest return for my time and money. Any ideas?
Answer: Home improvements often increase resale value. In today's market - they may not increase your resale value - but they might place you in the 'front of the pack' of desirable homes.
Creating a new space such as adding a bathroom, family room, new kitchen, etc., can be much more expensive and time-consuming than making improvements to an existing space.
Existing spaces can be improved with updates such as replacing rusty plumbing fixtures, adding a fresh coat of paint, purchasing new appliances, updating window coverings, etc.,. These fixes will take less time, cost less money, but still improve the home's appeal. Look at it this way - these types of improvements will also make your home more beautiful and enjoyable for you while you live there.
