Does Home Staging Really Make a Difference?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

Yes it does!I have used a home stager since I began in this business and I speak from experience when I say it make s significant difference. In the beginning of my business I saw it as important, but not a necessity. In today's current market condition it is a necessity. There are several levels of home staging and thanks to many of the current television shows about real estate we tend to think in extreme cases only. Every home can benefit from a home stager. Even homes of professional interior decorators. Home staging is not decorating. Home Staging is marketing to the masses and taking away the personality of the home seller and making the home an inviting environment that people do not want to leave because they are visualizing themselves already in your home. Interior design is personalizing your home to show your personality and unique style. Home staging is so much more than just moving out a chair, taking down some photos and de-cluttering a closet.

My home stager has made complete transformations in many of my listings. The clients who allow her to transform their homes into a "model like" home have had more success in the market than the homes that were just semi-staged. I believe that you have a harder time selling somethng that you do not love. It is important that as your Realtor I can fall in love with your home. I have had many a home where I initally see it and think how am I going to market this home and then my stager works her magic and TADA, it is transformed into a home that I am usually thinking about making an offer on myself. I have had to use great restraint many times from writing an offer myself and that truly says a lot. I think that if more agents used home stagers that we would see a significant increase in our prices and a faster turnover rate.

So who is my home stager? Her name is Scottye Saul with Scottye's Creative Design. She has been in the interior design business for over 20 years and in the home staging business for 6 years. Her homes sell quicker and have more activity than many homes in the same market. She will work for any Realtor or home buyer who needs help preparing their home for sale. She will also work with home buyers to help them decorat their new home or do updating. She is very reasonable and you will be blown away with her talent. I have many homes that she has done and you can access them through my website at www.staceymccomb.com
