Westport, MA Market Conditions
Westport is a historic, seaside community, located along the Massachusetts South Coast. This is the region along Buzzards Bay, between RI and Cape Cod. Westport is the westernmost town along the South Coast and abuts Tiverton and Little Compton, RI.
Westport has a historical harbor area called Westport Point with many homes from the 18th and 19th Centuries. This helps shape the character of this quaint, seaside town. In this area are beaches, piers, moorings, restaurants, and a vibrant waterfront. There is also the 5-mile long Horseneck State Beach.
Westport also has several beachy, waterfront communities like: Brayton Point, Acoaxet, East Beach, West Beach, and several other areas along the banks of the East and West Branches of the Westport River. Westport is also home to Marinas, Country Clubs, Wineries, and Audubon Preserves. Many of the farms are under Agricultural Protection and can never be developed.
30 minutes from Cape Cod, Newport, RI, and Providence, RI; and 50 mins from Boston, Martha's Vineyard (via direct Ferry) and two international Airports, Westport is a lovely place to live year-round or to have a beach home.
People who buy summer homes in Westport find that there is no increase in traffic in season and that they avoid the congestion on Cape Cod. Meanwhile they are within an hour of several great destination spots mentioned above.
