What's up with Tim Hortons???

I enjoy Timmies coffee and will regularly stop with a client to get one.  My problem is this...i take the remainder of my coffee on the road in my Jeep.  The lids on Timmies coffee cups are not "driver" friendly but lately i've noticed that i can get a Cappacino lid put on my medium with one cream.  When i stopped at Timmies in West Bank (not far from Kelowna), i was told that i couldn't have a Cappacino lid unless i ordered a Cappacino because of the cost of the lids.   I think i will contact Tim Hortons to find out why this is so.

Now, i understand we are in an economy crunch like we haven't seen in my lifetime but come on....are they serious?  No other Timmies has mentioned this "Corporate" decision to say NO to a customer and i have always been told that "The customer is always right".  Right??  As a matter of fact, it was the Timmies in Osoyoos who made me aware of the fact that these "driver friendly" lids were available in the first place.

It's often after being embarasses and suprised by being told NO by a business from which one wishes to purchase a product that we think of the things we should have said.  For instance: Who made this decision?  Is it a corporate or franchise decision?  Can i pay extra for the lid since it's an issue asking for one?

So, then i begin to wonder...am i being petty?  Should i refrain from asking to have a Timmies "coffee experience" the way i like to have it?

What do you think?
