Release your inner child and participate in the first Navy Yard Sidewalk Chalk Competition Saturday (rain date May 18). This event features a chalk drawing competition on the sidewalks of Storehouse Row at The Navy Yard at Noisette. Storehouse Row will be turned into a colorful gallery of sidewalk chalk art from artists of all ages. Come out to participate or just watch. Entries will be judged and awarded prizes; all finished works will be preserved on the sidewalks as long as the weather allows. Drawing begins at 11 a.m. and wraps up at 3 p.m. when local celebrity artists begin judging. Refreshments and entertainment will be available all day. This is just one of the many events going on this weekend as part of the North Charleston Arts Festival. Events, many at no charge, continue today through Saturday.
