My 800 Billion Dollar Thought For Today...

Paul's Blog inspired me. I thought I would post my comment to his post to see if any of you felt the same way...

I would feel better if I thought that this was all about stabilizing the economy and not about personal ambitions. Nestor and Katrina are right- It has to take it due course. If the plan was so grand wouldn't investors be jumping on board instead of running for life jackets?

We need to stabilize. Lets put together a panel of economists, citizens, Realtors, investors, and yes- representatives. Have them mull this over before they just throw money at it. There are men who have made fortunes from nothing. They probably have some good ideas, but it will take ACTION.

Personal responsibility needs to take hold. Don't just hold your hand out... get to work. Find a way to make it work. The lazy mentality that "the man" will take care of you is what is tearing our county apart. If you look back these programs were never intended to be hand outs, just a help out as you get on your feet again. Something some Americans and others taking advantage of our system have not considered doing in a long time.

What we need to do to fix this issue is put everyone on the job of solving this crisis and not waiting around for the next stimulus check or hug from the government.

Get inspired. Make a difference. Move forward without looking back. These are the days that fortunes are made. Invest in your self, and your dreams. Just go for it...and in turn we will all prosper.-Dinah Lee Griffey

In 1982 there was major inflation...adjustable mortgage over 20% for commercial lending. The economic cut back was to shrink inflation, reduce the deficent..and it worked..it hurt but was needed medicine. Now we have super low rates but if we add to spending, increase size of government we will have inflation...if we can't borrow and spend out way out as a country, the printing presses will fire up and crank out the Ben Franklins, Alexander Hamiltons and all the other dead presidents on our currency.  Plant a garden cause if money has no value, you can not eat the gold in the reserve and will be getting hungry.  New spending habits, getting real value, working hard and being grateful you have a job. No more texting at work, or on line, or personal calls..or you are fired. Period.

Andrew- it may sound harsh... but you are right. You lived through those times and know what we are facing and it is not pretty. There is a way out- but it will require WORK not waiting, hoping, and dreaming-Dinah Lee

Dinah Lee, I would settle for good solid debate before we just start throwing money around. Time for public comment and legislators that might actually listen to the public. Instead we get legislation over 1,000 pages long without time to even read before passage.

Jay- That would thrill me. We are discovering new parts to the plan everyday that were just slipped in. Let's take it one issue at a time. What is rong with being strait forward. I can not say that I see the stilumus package as transparent.

Thanks for the comment. Your input is appreciated!-Dinah Lee

Dinah- You are right. Thanks for the link love too:)That is why Realtors like Jeff are running for office. This is where it needs to start.

National Credit Fixers: those economists and so called experts have all failed us. There was a poll taken that asked who do your trust more yourself or the government, very sad that there were about 21% of Americans that actually trusted the govt more than themselves.

Yes, the so called 'experts' are less qualified because of their huge disconnect with the people and small businesses and because they are there for political agendas.

Our forefathers did not create this government to take care of us, to give handouts and bailouts.

What  we need is people who are really in the trenches, you have started businesses and made profits, have lost it all and then got it all back and more.

Those so called experts and especially your life long politicians have worked on the government payroll far too long to know anything about the real world. Professors who are so called intellectuals are coddled in the safety of their Universities with no sense of their theories actually being put in practical motion on the streets.

We need people with street smarts to get involved. We need grass roots business people who have used guerrilla marketing techniques. Katerina

If you have read Matt Heatons post on this subject...he is right in line with you....he says that the politicians are just very possibly "kicking the can down the road" so the full impact of what has happened does not hit us now......

I pray things will get better before the full impact DOES hit us...this MIGHT throw us into a forced WORLDWIDE currency.......to take care of everything.........

We ALL know what THAT means....... and it is NOT GOOD......

Great post, Dinah.  I completely agree.  I know some people who are too willing to stick out their hand for help but aren't willing to work for it.  I also think that the blame game has gone on long enough.  Until people stop pointing their fingers at others and start pointing them back at themselves, the situation will never repair itself.
