Pandemonium Coming?

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker

The lockbox on a colleague's listing was cut off its railing yesterday, broken into, and then someone took the keys and broke into the house!

How this was possible, I'll never understand.  We were told our lockboxes were impenetrable.  Absolutely inviolable, they said...

SANDICOR LOCKBOX

You may consider having all showings be by appointment only.  And, as an extra precaution, you also may want to have your clients

  1. stow all their valuables, and
  2. be sure their insurance is up to date.

These times are not fun.  I have a friend who, for the first time in his life, is considering purchasing a gun.  I think I managed to convince him that he'd only be putting himself and his family in more danger by doing so.

I know things are probably going to get worse before they get better, but we have to have faith that SOME day, sooner or later, hopefully sooner, we will be looking back on these times (and thanking the heavens they are over.)

Hi Eva,

Wow--What a story!  How terrible that someone took all the time to break into the lockbox and the home! I hope your seller didn't lose too much!

I agree that one day (hoping for soon as well) that we will look back on these times and be glad for them to have passed.

Have a great rest of your weekend!

Don't forget me if you learn of anyone moving to "The OC!"

Exactly - let's just brace ourselves for what's coming, and hang on to the knowledge that eventually this too shall pass...

Hi Eva,

Sorry to hear that!  Crime does go up in a bad economy.  Our burglaries were up 100% over January 2008.  Things happen.  We can't control everything so try not to let it get you down.
