The Silver Cable property has sat idle with no development or improvements for the last 100 years. The tract is situated in a U-shaped glacial valley. The property is linear in shape and lies partly w/in the Cable Creek riparian stream bottom between 4400 - 4600 foot elevations. Corners of the property extend upslope to steep rugged alpine ridgelines (both to the north and south) and reach elevations around 6200-6600 feet. The property provides habitat for numerous species of wildlife and recreational opportunities for hiking, camping, berry picking, hunting, and x-country skiing. The old mining road, which once accessed the Silver Cable property, provides relative easy walking access to the upper reaches of the Cable Creek draining. This drainage provides some of the best moose hunting in the KNF. This glacial valley has spectacular views of steep rugged glaciated ridgelines and cirque head walls.
