A practice session Home staging

By
Home Stager with Home Staging Montreal (HSM)

As part of my Home Staging training program, I organize practice session at a client's home.  As each home is different, each staging project is different as well.  We have staged vacant homes as well as performed a minor miracle on a lived-in home and all that in about 4 hours!

I want to share some projects my classes worked on, as I am very proud of the results.

The first one is a vacant condominium in downtown Montreal, which is listed for $300K.  I prepared everything in advance by renting the appropriate furniture and bringing the accessories in before the staging day.  The students had to try different configurations and reach a consensus on the optimal furniture positioning and accesories placement...  They saw what a REAL staging is and how hard we work (LOL)!

And here are the results!

Bedroom empy          Bedroom staged

Bedroom Transformed!

Dining and living room empty          Dining and living room staged

Living room and dining room area

Let me know what you think.  I will post another project in a couple of days.

Have a great week!

The transformations look good, but it would be great for your student's portfolio to make sure the before and after photos are from the same angle.  This is one of the trademarks of quality B&A photos, in my opinion and is something that cleints seem to view as important.

Thanx for your comments.

Melissa - you are right about the pics - I am trying but am still strugling to take the pics from the same angle, especially when the space is vacant and then furnished.  Any tips on how to do it better?

Yes, the space looks great and you did a wonderful job staging.  I do, however, agree with Melissa.  It is very helpful to be able to compare the before and after shots... apples to apples, per se.  If the before photos are taken on a different day, it is often hard to remember which angle they were taken from.  I've found it useful to print a thumbprint page of the before shots to take on staging day so that I am able to take the after shots from the same angle.  Hope that helps!

I'm not sure that is a true test to what they can do ... sometimes the most difficult part of staging is choosing the right accessories to get the desired look ... I think the real test is to send your students into your staging storage and see what they come up with!

Love the clean lines but warmth that the wood & the leather suggest, Sveta!
