Top Producer 8i (revisted)

I have been using Top Producer 7i since January 2005 and it has bee a true blessing to my business!  It helps me follow up with a track over 300 people in my database. It has successfully helped me sell homes to several buyers that I have followed up with over a year from first call to closing.  Plus it has helped me stay in touch with past customers.

When I first logged to Top Producer 8i I freaked out. I thought it was the worst change I have ever seen.  I did not understand how to use it so I really ripped it.  (If you follow my blog I don't rip things. I am generally positive and upbeat and look for the good!)  I did not like Top Producer 8i!

Recently Top Producer 7i stopped working on my home computer, so I had to start using Top Producer 8i from home.  Now that I am getting the hang of it I need to take my words back. Top Producer 8i does appear to be an upgrade on 7i. I still use 7i from the office mostly because I am used to it, but also because it shows more contacts on my daily contact list.

Top Producer 8i is all good!  Just needed to put that out there for the record!

I agree - it has taken me a long time to get used to 8i but I like it now and I am actually beginning to figure out how to use it thanks to Travis!

I understand the freak out when starting new software. I am still not comfortable with 8i - but I have not given it enough of my time. It's too easy to go back to 7i.

I felt the same way when 8i first came out. Now that I have forced myself to use it I find myself returning to 7i less and less. On of the things I like the most is being able to have my most used screens open in tabs. I still feel that 8i is less user friendly than 7i and requires more mouse clicks to get the job done but I realize I must eventually accept the new technology or get left out in the cold.

I have used Top Producer 5, 6, 6i, 7i, and 8i.  I have loved them all and found that each had only a slight learning curve, but excitedly learned new functions - with the exception of 8i.  I still can't get used to it.  In its defense, I don't use it as much as I once did - come to think of it, I don't use it because I don't like it as well.  I would still be using 6i if it was email capable and worked with Microsoft Vista.  Alas, it doesn't and I am paying for 8i and I don't really want it but I am stuck with it for a few more months.  When my contract is up I may go to another, which saddens me as I have been faithful to this product for many, many (1995ish) years.  8i was SOOOOO slow on my Treo 700wx that I removed it.  When I had 7i on it it worked fine.  Any good tips out there?
