Newfound Lake is boardered by 4 towns, Bristol, Bridgewater, Hebron and Alexandria. Each town brings to the lake its own unique history.

Bristol, New Hampshire is a beautiful New England town that offers all the benefits of small town living, and close to major recreational attractions. Bristol is located in the southeastern part of Grafton County. Bristol is bounded north by Bridgewater, east by New Hampton, south by Hill and west by Alexandria. The Town of Bristol has a year round population of approximately 3,300 and a seasonal summer population of approximately 6,500 inhabitants. Bristol was incorporated in 1819 and is operated under a Town Manager form of government with a 5 member board of Selectmen. The Town of Bristol is dedicated to providing the best possible service to our residents, businesses, and visitors. Bristol borders the sothern tip of Newfound Lake and channel that flows into the Newfound River.

Nestled beside Newfound Lake and below Mount Cardigan, Alexandria, NH is a beautiful New England town. With tremendous natural beauty, Alexandria offers all of the benefits of small town living, close to major recreational attractions, and just about 2 hours from Boston.

Bridgewater received its charter in 1788, when it was part of the town of New Chester. New Chester was separated into Bridgewater, Hill, Bristol, Danbury, and Wilmot. Early settlers of the area were from Bridgewater, Massachusetts, thus giving the town its name. The town line follows the eastern shore of Newfound Lake.

Hebron was formed in 1791 from a portion of the extinct township of Cockermouth and from a portion of what was then called West Plymouth. Hebron is a quaint town with wonderful exposure on Newfound Lake. Hebron follows the North Eastern and North Western Shore of Newfound Lake.
