I have seen a lot of posts on Logan Utah real estate, and very few on the surrounding areas of Cache County Utah. I would like to discuss some of the rural towns in the Cache Valley area.

Let's start with the Northern half of Cache Valley: Richmond, Utah.

Richmond, Utah is a rural city just south of the Idaho border. It's about an eight minute drive to southern Idaho, or a ten minute drive to Logan, Utah.

Population for Richmond in July 2007 was approximately 2,337. With a Population change since 2000 at +12.7% (statistics provided by City-Data). Richmond is slowly growing, as with the rest of the Cache Valley area.

Richmond Utah Housing Density

222 houses/condos per square mile.

Houses: 655 (619 occupied 537 owner occupied 82 renter occupied)

13% of Richmond Utah houses are rented.

28% of Utah housing is rented.

The Richmond, Utah area consists of farmland, and small locally owned business'. If you're looking to buy a home in a small rural town, Richmond Utah homes can be a great choice. I am a resident of Richmond, Utah and have lived there for the past 4 years. The greatest thing about Richmond, is the community. It's a very small, tight knit community with great support.

Black and White Days

The biggest celebration in Richmond is Black & White Days, the longest running Holstein dairy show west of the Mississippi River. Black and White Days consists of some great local food, a celebration of the fine dairymen, and a late night horse pull to end the festivities.  You can find more information on the Richmond Utah celebration by visiting the Richmond Utah Website.

There are many varieties of Homes in Richmond Utah. From small homes that date back to the 1800's, to brand new houses on the east bench. If your looking to build a new home in Richmond, this is within reach. There is plenty of room to grow within the small community. If you would like to build a home in Richmond, Utah lots have always been affordable.

Homes in Richmond are an affordable investment. Although, if you're looking for fast growth for your investment, Richmond may not be the right spot.  If you plan on investing in Richmond Utah, plan on giving it some time to produce.
