Democrat or Republican, does it really matter?

By
Real Estate Agent

I just wanted to write this blog to get some opinions from my fellow users and visitors here on AR. I have an employee in my office who continuously bashes the "democrats" for everything that goes wrong in this country. I have also met folks who continuously bash the "republicans" for everything that goes wrong in this country also. I am not here to claim my party, because I am not for the party, but rather the individual. I just don't understand how people can be so narrow minded to try and blame everything bad in the United States on one side of the political party or the other. It just seems absurd to me that you would be able to categorize a thing like that. Don't these people understand that a politician is a politician, whether they are republican, democrat, independent, white, black, green, yellow, or whatever else you want to categorize them as. Eventually they are looking out for what benefits them and their friends and have no concern for the American people. Greed is what got our country into the problems it is in today, both politically and non-politically.

So before you go to point fingers or blame either the "republicans" or the "democrats" for all your problems, think twice and know that a politician is a polictician is a politician.

"Politicians are like diapers. They both need changing regularly and for the same reason."

I completely agree and this blame game is getting very frustrating.  If we continue with the BS, tehn our country will never find a way out.

Melissa ~ Unfortunatelay, I think that there are too many higher ups that make too much money in times like these who lobby the politicians to keep things the way they are.

Caren ~ I think so too, and until we do that, we will never have a "clean" government.

Amen! If folks spent more time doing what they're really good at and less time pretending they know everything about issues so big NOBODY has come up with a solution we might ALL be better off and they would look less ignorant!

David - Well said.  Why some want to alienate about 50% of the buyer and seller pool - is beyond me!

I agree...I have seen what I consider to be some pretty extremist posts here on AR lately.  Is there really anyone out there who knows everything? Are you sure that because one way didn't work that the other way will?  Maybe we need to stop thinking of  solving problems in black and white and realize most problems are really more shades of gray!!!!!  It is time we all work together as Americans.

Ross ~ This picture may be worth a million words.

Sarah ~ I totally agree with what your saying. They need to stop worrying about their own agendas and start focusing on the good of the public.

James ~ I guess it leaves more money for them and for some of their friends.

David, it's funny because we have several agents in my office who are incredibly connected to both parties.  Like one of them was the Clinton's buyer broker when they left the White House.  And we almost never talk about politics.  I don't even know how my broker voted or whether she's a Democrat or Republican - although I have my suspicions!

Holly ~ I agree with you. Once we put the good of our general public in our main sights, and stop looking out for how we could individually benefit from certain things, the world would be a much better place.

Patricia ~ I just find it so funny how some people can really believe it is either one party or the other who is responsible for all the things that have gone bad in this country.

As noted in another post of yours, there's a certain kind of entitlement that has pervaded our country. I want it and I want it now. If we can't have it and can't have it now, part of that entitlement says that someone is to blame. Not a responsibility on their own part for not saving their money and buying only what they could afford, but a need to blame someone else. Ah, but America is still wonderful.

Jim ~ Thank you for takin the time to read other blogs of mine, I appreicate it. And you are right, despite all the bad things that are going on here, I am still proud to be an American.

Russel ~ Yeah I think you are ..... uggh wait no nevermind, all the blame is equal. (haha)

I too have difficulty understanding how someone can be so 100% aligned to either party.  I think that is a big part of the problem.  If "my guy" has an idea, it is the greatest idea since sliced bread.  If "the other guy" has the same idea, it is the dumbest idea ever.  We all have to work together to solve this mess.

Karl ~ Exactly, something that is a fantastic idea will be shuned upon if it is from a member of the "other" party. However if someone in "your" party had thought of the idea, well then that guy would be a genius and the other side would be complete idiots. The problem with government is there is too much finger pointing.

Hi David -- As an issues kind of person, I think both parties are out of touch with the average American.  Just my 2c worth, and truly, 2c, but what the heck, I think my opinion is probably more in tune than half the politicians in D.C.

Chris ~ I would agree. What this country needs is a normal American to become President, and everyday person. But that will never happen because we don't have 100 million dollars laying around to run a campaign. We don't need to know all the mumbo jumbo, we know as normal American citizens what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. Too many politicians are too dirty and heavily involved in crooked things for good change to come to this country, unfortunately.
