Do you have superstitious clients, too?

I have had several clients make comments about not wanting to do anything real estate related on Friday the 13th. I usually encourage my buyers to close on Friday so that the taxes are paid through the weekend by the seller, but one of my buyers refused to close on Friday the 13th. At first I thought this was ridiculous, but then I thought about it some more. I decided if I was closing on a house and had my pick of any day to close, I would probably avoid Friday the 13th, too. Speaking of being superstitious, I have also had clients do a blessing ceremony on their home to ward off bad spirits before they moved in.

I decided to do some research on Friday the 13th and found some really interesting stuff on Wikipedia. There really are a lot of reasons that the number 13 has been seen to be unlucky, but I had no idea that Fridays were viewed as being unlucky, too. Maybe I should think twice about having my clients close on Fridays now...

Coming from a woman who loves thrills and scary movies, I love when Friday the 13th rolls around. I haven't decided which scary movie will be watched tonight in honor of such a spooky day. I could go with a Hitchcock classic or a newer horror movie- I just have too many favorites! Any suggestions?

I like the number 13 (although 3 is my favorite number). It's never been unlucky for me. But, I have heard of these things before. Since Horror is my favorite movie genre, I have lots of favorites, too. The Ring (American remake), The Grudge (Japanese original) and Joy Ride are some of my favorite newer movies. My favorite monster movie is Jeepers Creepers. Classically scary movie favorites are, of course, Exorcist & Exorcist III (II never needed to be made), Jaws (not really scary, but fun), Poltergeist and the original Nightmare on Elm Street. My favorite Hitchcock movie of all times is Rear Window. I can sit and watch that ANY time.

Heather, Rear Window is one of my all-time favorites, too! I also like Hitchcock's Vertigo and The Ring and The Grudge. Have you seen Copycat with Sigourney Weaver? It is more of a mystery and is not that well known but is also one of my favorites. :)

I have never seen Jeepers Creepers, I'll add that too my list!
