Athens GA Women's Council of Realtors Charity Chili Cook-Off Mar. 19, 6-9 PM

The Athens chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors will be hosting it's 4th Annual Chili Cook-Off for the benefit of the Athens Area Homeless Shelter. The cook-off will take place at The TailGate Station, 234 Oak St from 6PM - 9PM Thurs, Mar. 19.

There will be something for everyone, with 12 different chili recipes to sample and vote on. Soft drinks are available also, along with fire extinguishers. The Packway Handle Band will be providing blue-grass music for entertainment.

Hi Mike—Man o' man, I am a chili fanatic, so I would have loved to attend this event. There's nothing better than to chow down on a big bowl of spicey chili to get your motor runnin'. I've been known to enter a few chili contests and even won three years in a row in San Antonio before they said I couldn't enter any more because other people should have a chance to win... oh well.

If you are ever in Texas let me know and I'll treat you to what I call "My Stand-up and Salute Super Macho Chili." It's a stand-up spoon thick-n-rich-n spicey beefy treat for your taste buds even if I say so myself... it is not for wimps - LOL!

This sounds like a fun event. Did you take pictures? If so you should add some to the blog. I love a good chili cook off. If it was closer to Austin I would have cooked. I make a mean fiery bowl of red that has won a few cookoffs.
