Founded in 1644 with Branford, this beach neighborhood also includes the Short Beach Union Church and the Yale Corinthian Yacht Club.

The residents take great pride in this community especially over the Labor Day Weekend as the neighborhood features a three-day festival at the end of the summer called Short Beach Days with a parade, costume contest, food, races, sand castle building and competitive games.

Most notably, Short Beach is known for the population of the Monk Parakeets that live there.  It has been said that the parakeets escaped from a zoo, took up residence in the neighborhood trees and can be seen and heard all year long.

Carole - The events that take place during Short Beach Days are wonderful and a great way to celebrate the Labor Day Weekend.

Gita - I hope you'll have an opportunity to visit here someday too.

Bill - The Short Beach area does sell very well.  There's a great mix of homes, condos and cottages and is such a picturesque area all year round.

George - I think Spring fever is becoming contagious!  I'm counting on the great weather we've been having to stay with us.
