You might remember the days on the Outer Banks that Dare County as a whole was "Bring Your Own Bottle". That change for most areas in the 80's but not for Manteo, Hatteras Island, and Southern Shores just recently changed. Hatteras Island restaurant owners are trying to get it back on the ballot again. Ocracoke Island recently changed there rules so this buts Hatteras Island business in the middle. Nags Head on one side and Ocracoke Island on the other. I agree with business owners!
It will definitely help their bottom line. I think it was good for business in other parts of Dare and Currituck County and needs to be a part of Hatteras Island. You can read the story in the Virginia Pilot at:
