Spring is in the air and I have to say we have had a very mild winter so far. We have had days in the high 70's already and the flowers and redbud trees (my personal favorite) are quite confused. We are all hoping for winter to be over and look for the comming spring season. I've even noticed that some gardens are already tilled.
Both universities are in full swing with all types of free concerts, lectures and plays. One of the many benefits of living in this great community. Lexington and Buena Vista offer that small town feel with plenty to do during the day and evening. The local Drive in (Hull's Drive In) will be opening next week with a double feature. A sure sign of spring.
The Lexington Sunrise Rotary Club (yes, we do meet at 7:00a.m.) is planning for the huge 4th of July festival which will bring over 30,000 people to the area. Hot air balloons, numerous vendors, lots of food and free concerts on the VMI parade ground. The event lasts three days and is a great meeting place to enjoy music under the stars and don't forget the fireworks.
Come join us and enjoy all that Lexington has to offer.
