What did you do different to build your business today?

Hi all,

        It is so easy for me to get comfortable doing my daily routine.  I know that for me to be successful I have to do things a little different from time to time.  I spend most of my time at my desk and rarely get "out in the field". 

Here is what I did different today:

 

I had lunch with a referral partner today and asked how I could help him build his business.

I made an appointment for lunch with another referral partner for tomorrow.

I reached out to old business contacts that I haven't spoken to in a while to see where they are today.

I found many of my old account representatives in different industries since the closing of so many lenders.  However many are in financial related businesses and just from today's effort I was able to secure 2 leads.

I called clients that I haven't spoken with in along time just to talk and see how they are doing.  No leads but i am now active in their minds and left the conversation with the If you can think of anyone who could use my services I love referrals etc..  so something may come of it.

I worked on expanding and updating my Linked In which has provided me with even more "old" contacts that I will try to reach tomorrow.

What did you do different today?  Since there are so many truly professional people on AR I would love to learn new ideas from you!  Thanks in advance : )

Also,  in case all of this market news about rates and the fed is confusing to some of you I will try to simplify it:  The feds are buying mortgage backed securities (mortgage loans in bulk).  When this happens (when bonds rally) interest rates come down.  By the end of today rates went up a little but many on Wall Street are speculating that rates will remain low and should drop even lower.  Many of us loan brokers are disappointed that the lenders have not been willing to lower their rates as much as we would have hoped.  They have proven to be stingy on rate improvement.  If you want current rates you may e-mail me for a mortgage rate update anytime!  nevin@nevinloans.com
