As I have stated in my general info page...I am originally from california, living in new jersey and lousiana since then. I have lived in texas for the last 30 years in west houston. I have been in the katy tx area for the last 6 years.
When we first moved to katy in 2003 there was nothing in our area of what would be considered north katy(north of I-10). In the 6 years since this area has exploded in growth both new construction and commercial development. There have been built roughly 7 strip centers a walmart,kroger,and many fast food restaraunts and other retail establishments.
That being said, the media is constantly informing the general public that that real estate market is at a standstill and noone is buying or sellling. As most of us know in the houston area in general this is not so much the case. As a matter of fact the katy area specifically is quite balanced at this point being neither a buyers or sellers market. This is for the katy area, but the overall houston market is much better off than many areas of the country.
