What Shadow Do You Cast?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with ERA Strother Real Estate

What shadow do you cast? This concept became very real to me when I was asked several years ago to motivate and lead a team of sales professionals to success.  I immediately started to work measuring team performance and goals while encouraging and training sales agents. After six months I reviewed our results, no progress.  I was stunned and unsure of my next step.  After a tremendous amount of soul searching, I determined the problem was not them, it was me.  I then had to ask myself, "What was I doing?  Am I motivated?  Do I have empathy? Do they trust me?" As I asked myself these questions the answer became quite clear. I was not "all in."  So, I started to work on me... as I changed, they changed.  It was amazing!

As a real estate professional you must ask yourself this same question, "What shadow do I cast?" Do I care about my customers needs? Do my clients trust and believe I have their best interest at heart?  The training programs at ERA Strother Real Estate keep our sales associates in tune to personal growth, customer needs and beyond excellent service delivery.  The shadow that you cast will be a true indicator of your success.

No one can persuade another to change. Each of us guards a gate of change that can only be opened from the inside. We cannot open the gate of another, either by argument or emotionnal appeal.                - Marilyn Ferguson

Denise _ I liked the title of your post and it made me think. I hope that I cast light instead of shadow.
