Real Estate Agent with Vision Quest Realty WV0026375

The Greenbrier Valley Board of REALTORS (GVBOR) provided a seven hour continuing education seminar on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Roland P. Sharp Alumni Center, located on the grounds of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Lewisburg, WV.

Lisa Merrill Spencer was the speaker.  She presented Real Estate Investment Opportunities in 2009

Lisa Merrill Spencer is an entrepreneur and distinguished independent lecturer who has spoken across the United States and Canada.  She is a member of the Advisory Council for the Department of Communications at Texas State University and is the recipient of an achievement award from the Governor of Missouri for her work in real estate and community development.

The speaker provided statistics on real estate opportunities and where we are today, and what must happen.  She explained where the opportunities are to invest in real estate today, and how to evaluate investment property.  She touched on different loans, FHA.VA, Conventional, etc.; debts, credit scores, underwriting guidelines, qualifying ratios, down payment, and owner financing.

The last two hours was used to work on a case study.  Now, by the end of the day, my head was spinning with all this information....

There were approximately 110 attendees that received their seven hours of continuing education.  We enjoyed breakfast, and delicious snacks throughout  the day provided by City National Bank, First National Bank of Ronceverte, and First Citizens Bank.  Drinks were provided by Homes and Land. There were 12 vendors at this event providing information on their products, as well as giving prizes. Besides the four aforemetioned vendors, others participating in this event were:  Arbonne, Jockey Person-to-Person Clothes, Sam's Club, State Farm,  Wells Fargo, United Bank, Mountain Messenger, and Alcova Mortgage.

Lisa left a thought for all of us in closing......remember you buried "I Can't" and that there is always an open door even for the fly buzzing and hitting the glass in the window.
