Buyer's - Please Don't Offer to Buy a Home if you Don't Really Intend on Closing

I won't go into details so that I can protect those involved, but darn it, why are so many buyers making offers on homes, then deciding, almost on a whim, that they really don't want to buy after all. Fellow Realtors, tell your buyers that putting in an offer to buy a home, is an offer to BUY a home. It's not a test drive, other people's lives are involved in the transaction. The seller's most importantly, they are usually either excited or relieved that their home has sold. They typically feel they let it go too cheap, but hey, it's the market. But beyond the sellers, there are Escrow officers, Title reps, termite inspectors, Transaction Coordinators, and, let's not forget the Realtors!!

I know we are all anxious to put deals in Escrow, and no one wants to say, "are you sure you want to put in an offer" for fear of killing the deal. But make sure your buyer's realize, that just because they CAN get out of a transaction for pretty much any reason they wish, doesn't mean that they should. So, unless they are serious about buying a home, they shouldn't make that offer in the first place, that's just common sense.

I've seen more deals unfold in the last year, than in the prior 29 years.

It is just me????

It seems to be a trend with people wanting to take advantage of the low prices but unsure about their own financial future.  Good luck with the next one.
