For all of us that are old enough to remember, during the Vietnam War and for a while afterwards, it was very popular to wear little metal bracelets that had a soldiers name engraved on them The names were of soldiers that were either POW or MIA in the war.
As a kid, I wore one that contained the name of a family friend who was shot down over Vietnam. He was captured and later released. A few of us wore in our little circle wore his name bracelet for years until he came home. I have always wondered if there was a way to get those bracelets now. There is.
Take a look at http://www.memorialbracelets.com/. On the site the founder has not just bracelets for soldiers but also for those fallen in recent terrorist attacks. He also offers customized bracelets for anyone else. The site maintains a list of all of those who are still MIA or KIA in either wars or attacks on US soil. They have given over $74,000 to the families of those effected, as well.
I am going to order one as a way of remembering what someone else gave for my freedom.
