Topproducer Challenge - Real Estate Agent Seeks CRM Change!

By
Real Estate Agent with Virtual Properties - Atlanta Real Estate 255736

I used to be a complainer, but I've changed. Recently, though, I feel like I'm not getting the value for the dollar I'm spending on topproducer.  Sure the Market Snapshot tool is very spiffy and people like it and yes the automatic programs and Keller Williams templates are pretty cool as well.  However, I've had enough.

I putting a challenge out there to your CRM developers out there, I want to switch from Top Producer, but you haven't made a product that even comes close yet! I'll test it out and put up a review on my blog if you are willing to step up to the plate!

I need it to do the following things while limiting the number of "clicks" and reloads:

  • Manage My Contacts
  • Manage My Lead Flow from "cradle" to "cradle"
  • Needs to have automatic plans complete with task management
  • Would love for it to integrate with Google Calendars as this one sucks.
  • Needs to have notes prominent so I can access my client's information quickly
  • Needs to actually care about the customer base (me)

I don't need but would like

  • Listing Management
  • Transaction Management

As soon as someone can come up with a decent competitor to Top Producer, I'm sold.  I'm tempted to go back to goldmine right now.

This is EXACTLY what Market Snapshot is: database program disguised as something else - lead generation and oh, BTW we are also a postcard program. I had Market Snapshot through Realtor.com.

The 'leads' I received almost never replied back - and if I had a reply or was able to reach by phone - were embarassed and not serious. These experiences confirmed what I am now sure about. I believe that real introductions work much better in this market than ever before.

I feel it's a very expensive database program for names you can easily get through a street search in your local tax records.

In my MLS application I can set up 'real' searches for my clients and track when and what they are viewing. I only enter the name once and I can take my clients names from this application and sync it with Outlook. I know in Top Producer you have some nice options for importing into your web site. I like this but not all the bells and whistles for the cost of it...

Good Luck - I'll be looking for your challenge outcome!

Hey Joshua

Responding to your tweet, our team here at Sotheby's International Realty Canada (www.sothebysrealty.ca) is testing out a new Real Estate CRM based on Salesforce.com, it's produced by a team that has worked in Real Estate, KnewVantage. It's called Cumulus, it runs on salesforce.com's platform, so you get all the salesforce benefits. Google Apps integration, mobile, security, etc. But it's designed for realtors, instead of the standard out the box CRM you get with salesforce.com

I know it sounds like a sales pitch, but we looked at TopProducer, they are based in Vancouver, and it's a good product, and the sister product Marketsnapshot is a start of something but you just need a CRM.

Joshua,

I think that you are likely to find that there's no 'perfect' real estate organizer.  However, I would like to suggest that you take a look at RealtyJuggler.  RealtyJuggler doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Top Producer - in fact, it's a pretty straightforward (and fast) product.  It does have key features including task plans (action plans), DRIP mail, tracking of prospects, buyers, sellers and closings that agents have told us they need.  Notes are available for every screen.  But I am sure it's going to be missing something.

One final thought - we like to hear from our clients and make improvements to the product based upon feedback received.  I would suggest this - try us out for a few weeks.  Keep a list of the things you would like to see changed.  Than, give us a call and test us - ask us to improve something.  I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Sincerely,

Scott Schmitz

I put together this list of real estate software tools with pricing and a few reviews which you might find useful. I'll try to do a more extensive breakdown of the features of my favorites in the future. Let me know if I missed any good products and I'll add them to the list.

I currently use the data base management  in my By Referral Only system.  They provide letters and post cards and  a very easy mail merge.  However at $200.00 a month, it is a pricey mailing system.  There is a lot more to By Referral Only but...I don't use it.  Looking for something very low cost to bring over all my contacts so that I can do mail merge and mass emails.  In my previous life I've used ACT, Goldmine, Seibel and Salesforce.com.  I currently have all my contacts on a free single user salesforce.com site however, want to look at all my alternatives.  Thanks for the info.  I like cloud computing so not sure if outlook is for me.

Joshua, Did you find anything yet? I'd like to find something to just replace the Market Snapshot part of Top Producer. At $99 a month it's a little steep.  I've got the other stuff covered.

Jen, For $100 a month you can hire someone to create custom MLS market snapshots for your clients.  =)  I've found that the This Month In Real Estate works just as good and staying on top of my client's top of mind, the data in the market snapshot wasn't accurate a lot of times.  I had my HOA president call me a few times (he was on the list) and tell me that my numbers were wrong.

Thanks Joshua. I see a new task for my assistant.   I haven't been sending out This Month in Real Estate but that's a good idea too.

Joshua

AgentsHQ is a new contact management that we have recently launched and I can ensure that we care about the every day needs as Realtor.  AgentsHQ is a CRM that wasn't built by a businessman or group of developers, all of it's features and functions were designed by a Realtor Team from NJ that has been around for over 20 years.  We have worked on making this Real Estate CRM a system that is easy to keep up to date with limited time or effort.  It is user friendly and intuitive.  If you have any questions about our system and what features we are planning on adding feel free to ask.

We would also love to hear what you as a Realtor are looking for in a CRM and what are some of the daily things you do on a daily basis.
