I cannot say this enough. It keeps coming up. Realtors need to be educated, homeowners need to be educated. If each stager got one company on board, wrote a column in a local pub, preferably a real estate pub that is read by the public then the word would get out. It is a process and takes place one step at a time.
Staging is one thing. Educating about staging is another. Remember the adage "Give a man a fish and you feed him for today, teach a man to fish and you feed him for life." One realtor at a time.
So teach, educate, incorporate it into your business plan and your daily routine. When you are not staging you should be teaching about staging! If you are so busy you don't have time to educate because you are busy staging then your area is already up to speed and you don't have to teach, market, educate (as much).
The photo is taken from a class this month and the realtors are looking at my portfolio. I handed out my presentation folder with marketing and educational information, presented my power point, and had a question and answer session. In all it was an hour.
