REPLACEMENT TREES TO BE PLANTED IN KENTLANDS
As Kentlands residents, we are glad to know about efforts to replace trees that have been removed. There is a pocket park on Otis Mews behind our home where trees have been removed in past years but never replaced. If you have specific request for replacement trees, follow the suggestion of Robyn Renas in the following repost of her report in The News.
New Trees to be Planted, but Where?
By: Robyn Renas, Secretary
While performing annual tree maintenance within the community, several dead or dying trees were removed from our many tree-save areas and pocket-parks. The City of Gaithersburg requires a tree removal permit and an attached condition states that new trees of equivalent caliper must be planted to replace those removed. We know we have to plant some trees, but are hoping that the community will provide input as the where we plant the trees. If you would like to suggest a location, please email the information to the Board of Trustees at firstname.lastname@example.org. Our goal is to gather as many requests as possible in the next couple of weeks and forward the information to the Environmental Management Committee for their project oversight. Thank you.
